Fourth of July Classic Egg Salad (or deviled eggs) ~ Egg salad and deviled eggs are two July 4th favorites. Make your egg salad with Local Pastured Funny Farm eggs and Primal Kitchen Avocado Oil Mayo.

Sub gluten-free buns ~ Planning to grill burgers and dogs? Consider subbing out the buns for gluten-free versions. Your blood sugar levels and gut will thank you (link to gut health piece).

Replace colas with seltzers or kombucha cocktails ~ These are two easy fixes to cut out the sugar spike from sodas. We’ve written before about healthy ways to doctor up kombucha (K will link to piece), why not try one now?

Opt for fruit as your dessert ~ Bag the store bought cookies and make a fruit platter for dessert, instead. Cantaloupe and berries make an excellent addition to any fruit platter or salad. Let’s face it, watermelon is synonymous with summertime. Hydrating and delicious, it’s the perfect dessert.

If you’re hanging outside this week, don’t forget safe, effective sunscreens and insect repellants!
