Stressed? Overwhelmed? Tired? Cranky?

I recently felt overwhelmed and stressed from the holidays and I decided it was time for a good liver cleansing to elevate my mood.  I also had the pleasure of visiting with an Ayurvedic/Homeopathic practitioner, who also suggested a detox of the liver and gallbladder for a Spring cleanse.  I usually like to take things gently in the detox department and make changes in eating habits to get the full effect of cleansing.  I do less sugar, carbs, dairy and go full force on the leafy green veggies.

I learned that a two part series of cleansing would get me back on track to being an energetic and happy gal.

My first step was to quickly get things moving. With the help of the practitioner we decided that a morning elixir made with Braggs’ apple cider vinegar, turmeric and raw honey would be the start of the cleansing along with extra fiber in my diet for the next 3 weeks and then moving on to a supplement which included milk thistle and turmeric on a daily basis for added support before my next Fall cleanse.
With in a couple of days I had tremendous energy and my mood was enhanced, I slept better and I lost 7 pounds in those three weeks.

A delicious, ideal pick-me-up at home, work, sports or gym (Recipe taken from Bragg’s website) can be taken 3 times daily – upon rising, mid-morning and mid-afternoon or after dinner, as it aids in digestion.

  • 1 to 2 tsp. Bragg Organic Vinegar in 8 oz glass of purified water

  • 1 to 2 tsp. Organic Raw Honey

  • 1 teaspoon of  Organic/ No radiated turmeric or 1 capsule (opened) of Natural Factors Turmeric Root Extract.

My daily choice for liver and gallbladder support is Natural Factors Liv-Gall Cleanse formula, a very gentle but affective support with milk thistle, turmeric, dandelion and artichoke.
The liver neutralizes harmful poisons into harmless substances. As our prime defense against toxins, a fully functioning liver is essential. Milk thistle extract has liver-protective effects from Silymarin, the active substance in milk thistle, a powerful antioxidant that supports healthy liver functioning. Turmeric extract has been used for many centuries to support the liver. Dandelion contains enzyme-like substances that stimulate the function of larger organs, such as the liver and kidneys. Studies have shown that dandelion enhances the flow of bile. Artichoke powder acts in a manner similar to silymarin from milk thistle. All these herbs can benefit a great gentle cleansing.

On to the next step, which is a stress cleanse that will help with mood support.  Someone suggested I use a great new product by Enzymatic Therapy called  “Whole Body Stress Cleanse” and follow with a holy basil herb supplement on daily basis.

Why a stress cleanse?

We live in a hectic world. Every challenge to the mind and body creates a demand on your health and well-being. It’s important to find ways to control stress before it controls you. Your body can create stress-induced toxins. If you’re in a state of constant high alert, stress-induced toxins can affect your energy levels, mood, sleep, productivity and overall wellness.

Whole Stress Cleanse

Why Whole Body Stress Cleanse?

It’s the first stress cleanse product on the market, designed to help you lessen stress after the first use, reduce stress-induced hormones by up to 60 percent,  and feel calm and relaxed. Whole Body Stress Cleanse works in just 10 days to help you feel more energized, revitalized through better sleep quality and less stressed. It delivers day and night protection.

In the daytime, the Purifying Cleanse Formula fuels your body’s stress defenses with high-ORAC antioxidant power, which deactivate harmful free radicals and prevent production of stress-induced toxins.

At night, the Cortisol Modifying Formula helps your body relax, rebuild, and re-energize while you sleep. Even though you sleep through it, this formula provides support that extends into the next day by reducing cortisol levels and promoting a natural sleep cycle.

Last but not least, holy basil, which  is an Ayurvedic herb that exhibits antioxidant activity with support to the body’s natural response to oxidative stress. Holy basil has been long employed by India’s Ayurvedic masters to support a positive stress response and healthy mood and spirit. Scientist at the Central Drug Research Institute in India have found that holy basil maintained the normal stress hormone, cortisol in the body. Holy basil can also help with stabilizing normal blood sugar levels and weight loss by regulating cortisol. In the Ayurvedic tradition, holy basil also supports normal respiratory function and is considered to be an “elixir of life”, promoting good health and longevity.
